Tonight, Toyguru made an unscheduled appearance at the He-Man.org forums to answer a bunch of questions and concerns that have been gripping the MOTU fandom lately. I've compiled all of his most recent posts for all to read!

The Teela Subscription Problems and Wun-Dar Rumor

Hey all,

A lot has gone done in the last few days so let me try to address what has happened.

First off, I have spend the greater part of my day working directly with Mattel PR and Digital River to get to the bottom of all of this. Here is the skinny in fan favorite number point format:

1: Everyone who ordered a Teela or had a subscription is getting their Teela. Yes, we did have an odd problem of the word "Backorder" showing up. There is no such thing as backorder for MattyCollector.com. Once an item sells out it sells out (unless and until we get a second production shipment like with Nov's He-Man).

2: Yes subscribers were supposed to get their figures shipped first. This has been corrected going forward. We will also make sure full shipping notifications are sent out.

3: Some Teela's have not been shipped. We had a lot of items for sale this time and it takes time to ship everything. Items will be shipped in the next few days and we will continue to improve on this.

4: The Wun-dar rumor. Okay. This one we need to throw back at you guys. Customer Service has never been briefed on Wun-Dar or his program. It is impossible for a Digital River rep to have reported on this as we haven't reviewed this item with them. They only have knowledge up to the Dec shipping items.

So where this came from, we don't know. But if it is a rumor, I do ask fans to try and avoid putting out misinformation. It hurts everyone. Heck, I spent my day tracking this one down instead of spending time helping get new MOTU figures made. Happy to do it, but time is money in the toy biz!

I also ask all fans to think about this one logically. If we really did change the Wun-Dar program, don't you think we would have announced this? Would it really come from an obscure customer service call? I think by now we have shown that major announcements come all the time on Facebook, Mattycollector.com and through Q & As and posts like this. We have channels to communicate to the collector and we love using them.

I know there will always be fans insisting on the Wun-dar rumor coming from Digital River customer service.

Sigh.

I guess this figure in particular is cursed with creating fan rumors. Hasn't he been doing that for two decades already?

Things will keep improving. Remember, two years ago there was no Mattycollector.com and certainly no new MOTU toys.

We're making new MOTU toys guys! As a fan, that is what keeps me going. Everything else is just details.

Cancelled Subscriptions

No subscriptions have been canceled. Drop a line to Customer Service at 1 877 GO MATTY or email on Mattycollector.com and give them your name, email and order number. Some information in error was given out, but we have gone over all of this with Digital River. All Teela's are shipping out. You will not have to wait until Nov.

Bonus Figures in the Subscriptions

The reason we can't add bonus figures to the subscription is because for 2010 we don't know how many bonus figures we are doing. We have to see how the first few figures do first.

If the bonus figure program take off, we will add them to the 2011 subscription. If they don't take off, future planned bonus figures (after Battle Armor He-Man) will be rolled into the regular line.

The 2010 subscription will only include the figures we know we are doing for sure, which is the 12 monthly figures (and Battle Armor He-Man and Battle Cat as bonus figures not in the subscription).

Zodak's Sales

Selling very well. We'll keep an eye on him, Goddess, BA He-Man and Battlecat before giving the green light on more bonus figures. If there is not enough support for more then one figure per month, we won't do them. Simple as that. You vote with your purchase people!
