Wii U pre-order question

Well, I made the mistake of leaving the Wii down the shore... No way did I think it would be this bad compared to irene last year. so, now we need to find a replacement since the original is most likely flooded.

What is TRU's pre order system like these days? will i have to wait in line all night for a u? Also, can i trade in old DS's for a discount?

So many places do I see people saying "I didn't think it'd be as bad/worse than Irene." I believe you can't judge one hurricane by another. So many people I work with didn't believe the forecasters and paid for it through the nose.... Sorry to hear about your Wii. Anyway....

The Wii-U sold out in 2-3 days after pre-order started at the beginning of September. Gamestop, Best Buy, Target, Toys R Us, and K-Mart all sold out, first of the black deluxe versions, then the white basic ones. Amazon.com doesn't offer it to the USA. You MIGHT have some luck with walmart.com, but you'll have to purchase a game and extra controller along with the system as a bundle. This wasn't an issue for me as I wanted those extra items anyway. YMMV. Good Luck!

I'd say wait to buy a Wii U until it has something worth buying it for. By then, it will be 2015 and it will be $150.

I was going to, but we decided to go the X Box route instead. The old wii still works fine so no plans just yet.

The Wii U has some strong launch titles. I was able to pre-order a deluxe set.

The basic model is $300 with 8GB of memory. It comes in white.

The Deluxe model is $350 with 32GB of memory, the Nintendoland game is included (the basic model does not include a game), and it comes in black.

I was at a local Gamestop over the weekend, and they had a sign up saying that people can be put on a wait list for it at no charge. I'm assuming that most other locations are likely doing the same. So, even though they are out of launch preorders, that's at least an option. If you do find it sooner elsehwhere, then you can just have them remove you from the list.
