...well, now I have 2 more custom projects to add to my filmation style figures to do...

1. Gotta paint both of my shadowbeast figures like yours.
2. Trick out my King Hiss the same way!

Awesome! Glad I could spurn some ideas. I also have a third Shadow Beast that I left normal. I left all 3's muzzles, hands, and feet alone so that they all shared one common trait. I figure they can be from different tribes or types (go figure: brown bear, black bear, grizzly, polar...) of the same species. I thought about buying a 4th and painting him gray, but haven't got that far yet.

I keep reading so much about this Scal-Por creature on the .Org that I decided to create one of my own. Using the strangest mixture of parts I could come up with (at least for now), I created a creature so odd and wicked-looking that no one in their right mind would want to be him/her (in this case, him specifically). At the very least, this will probably get some price hikers mad at me (I stick my tongue out at you if you do ); at the most, I'm hoping my figure becomes a favorite on the .Org. So, without further ado, here he is:

Evil Hiker of Prices
Real Name: Lacer Tactilia
Off the coast of the Ocean of Gnarl and surrounded by the Mystic Mountains is the realm of evilBay. There lives a hawker of evil intent who loves nothing more than money! By sending out his slaves to buy items at cheap prices and in massive quantities from all over Eternia, he saves himself cost and then raises the prices to twice, three times, and sometimes even ten times the original price! And because of the high Moutains that surround his realm, the people who live close by have no choice but to pay his exorbitant prices. The creature—a green Scalean (lizard-man) nicknamed Scal-Por for both reasons of his high prices and his favorite method of teaching theives a lesson—uses magic and secret paths to send his slaves across the mountains and even himself when he has to. He wears a magical mane of fur complete with rib bones sticking out at the shoulders, and a large medalion on the front to help him with his magic, and can often be seen with a battle axe or scythe to protect his goods. Unknown to King Randor, this hawker continues his evil scheme in secret and plans to bring the world to its knees by collecting every last shilling from the peoples of Eternia!

Well, it's been a while since my last customs post, but I finally have something to show off. It's not a figure, but a neat idea I saw on a post from another .Orger. I can't remember who it was (and I tried to find the post so I could give them credit, but couldn't), but I saw this and thought "I gotta make one for myself!". So I did. Here is a display piece for your loose extra weapons from the Goddess to Oolar (or He-Man, whichever you choose).

You can see it here sans weapons with the impressions where they are supposed to go. A place for everything and everything in its place. The axe doesn't stay as well as I'd hoped it would. When I baked the Sculpey clay, it must have pulled the top back a bit because the handle doesn't "click" into place like it did before I baked it. Oh well. Live and learn (this is my first time using Sculpey)! And just because I could, even though it wasn't given to He-Man/Oolar, I added a slot for the Sword of Power to stick in. Of course, there was a sword on the wall in the comic, but since I don't have that one, this serves well enough.

I love your concept figures but what's even more impressive is the stack of bodies behind scalpor. I can't bring myself to spend money on these for fodder and there's no way I will ever find them at the swap meets or yard sales. Very impressive.

Most of the one's I have for fodder are bought at discounted prices (Son of Keldor has been one of my best friends for finding pieces and bucks), so I haven't had to spend too much on them. Or when they had the Mad Matty Monday, I got a bunch of stuff. Others, I got off evilBay when someone decided they could sell them below cost. It's fun when that happens. But, hey, ya never know what you might find at a yard sale. And if you're looking for something specific, PM me & we can discuss details there. I probably have more custom parts than I'll ever need (if that's possible).

Alright, my friends, it's time for another installment of Mistico's Customs! Every since Hunter Knight Customs made a figure of Pixel Dan, I've been wanting to make one of myself. I'm also using this as a way to work myself and 3 alternate-timeline story characters I made into the MOTUC arc (at least for my canon). Here's the first of the four figures I'm working into my Classics Canon: ME!


Matthew
Secret Identity of Mistico
Real Name: Matthew Gregory
Needing a way to hide his identity from anyone other than Queen Marlena and his wife, Larisa, Matthew donned a disguise that helped him fit into Eternia quite well. Becoming a personal bodyguard for the Queen and joining the renage Masters, he changes into his superhero form when duty calls. He and Larisa were gifted special swords by the Queen that had been found in Man-At-Arms' lab, and they quickly learned how to use these new weapons. At one point in the battle, when both Adam and Matthew ran off to change into their alter-egos, they stumbled upon each others’ change, Matthew seeing Adam tranform, and He-Man turning around to see a maskless Mistico. Both promised to hold the others’ secret and went into battle, turning the tide and making the Masters victorious over their enemies who were captured, banished or destroyed in the Second Ultimate Battleground.

He's made up of Mo-Larr's head, torso, loincloth, legs, and boots; PD He-Man arms, Prince Adam's vest, He-Man's shield, and a custom NA He-Man Sword by evilmike (ordered from his Shapeways site). Then I sculpted him a beard and painted his hair, bracers, belt, and bootstraps. I also made an AURYN necklace because rarely am I seen without mine on (one of these days I'll have to make him a metal one). I think he looks pretty good! And now, it's comparison time:


Yeah, I know. My hair is shorter than his, but that's because I just got mine cut. When it grows out, it actually DOES look [more or less] like the figure's.

And for my latest...well this isn't really a custom so much as finishing Mattel's job in painting Stinkor. I've had nothing to complain about in this line yet (although it took me a while to warm up to King Grayskull after we already had He-Ro--I mean why fix what ain't broke?--but oh well, I digress) love customizing, but when I have to actually fix something to make a figure worth the money I spend to buy it, that's a bit disheartening. ANYway, here's my updated Stinkor with paint apps on his laser, tanks, shield, and boots.

Inspired by claw guy 3, I made my own version of his Malpratice figure. Mine is a bit grimier though (guess he just finished an experiment, hehe). I altered some of Mo-Larr's tools to fit with this guy, including turning one of his dental mirrors into a demented saw. I also modified his bio to explain more (why/how), extrapolating from claw guy 3's original.

Recipe:
Tri-Klops head (sans visor)
Rubber o-ring (for reflector headband)

Malpractice
Skeletor’s Mad Scientist
Real Name: Dr. Marley Balstean
Once a well-renowned geneticist, Marley Balstein was friends with Duncan—the Man-At-Arms under Randor—and both studied to better mankind with their scientific research. Where Duncan would use mechanics to fix broken limbs and save lives, Marley used radiation and genetics to regrow or repair bodyparts. At first, it was a playful rivaly where the two scientists would compare notes and help one-another, but one day, a lab accident changed Marley’s life and sent him in a downward spiral of demented genetics. In this particular lab explosion, he found himself without sight. Duncan repaired his eyes with special plates that let him “see” via a radar sensor that was connected to his occipital nerves, but without his eyes, Marley quickly fell into a state of depression that lead to his fall. Forcefully recruited and brainwashed by Skeletor, he became known as Malpractice and would use his ability and knowledge to alter genetics for many of Skeletor’s creations. Aside from Skeletor’s wants, he has his own side schemes and experiments away from Snake Mountain. He would also quite happily do jobs for Hordak and Hiss when he can get away with it.

And now for my most beautiful custom EVER, my "wife", Larisa Oleynik!

...Okay, she's not my wife in real life. The backstory to her figure and mine begins my sophomore year of high school. In my speech class, we were to do a demonstration speech. I had always loved to draw and I wanted to make a comic book and use that for my speech. Well, to do that, I needed characters, a backstory for each one, and a storyline for the comic itself. I chose to make myself the main character (and use my famly and friends so I didn't have to create new people) and give myself mystical powers that I obtained through a lab accident (the origin has since been revamped in novel form). I took on the identity, Mistico (yes, my username here), and used my powers to fight evil. I've had a crush on Larisa Oleynik since I/we was/were 13 (we're the same age, separated by only four months). It only seemed fitting that my most fantastical self should meet, fall in love with (and in turn, her fall in love with me), and marry my all-time favorite actress. In my story, she too gains powers via me taking her back in time (one of Mistico's abilities) to where I had gained mine. This way, the same chemicals that altered me would alter her. It worked (obviously), and she became my partner fighting crime as well as my wife in the stories. When I decided to make myself into a MOTUC figure, it was only right for me to make my "wife" into one as well.

Thanks to Faceless One, I now have a head for her. I looked through all the MOTUC females and none of them looked close enough to alter to make her look right (like I did by altering Mo-Larr for myself). I asked many people over the .Org if they could sculpt me a likeness of her for my figure and he was the only one who came through. (Thanks buddy! I truly appreaciate it!) I think she looks fantastic! So I added her head to a UB Teela body, gave her the Galactic Sword of Defense from evilmike's Shapeways shop and BP She-Ra's shield, altered the bra to be "fur", repainted the furry shorts (her favorite color is purple, so I made them purple; probably made from a FILMation Shadowbeast that messed with the wrong train!), golded the brass on her gauntlets & belt, and purpled the bootstraps. Then I made her signature necklace with the rose pendant that she almost always wore in publicity photos. And now, here are her bio and photos:

Real Name: Larisa Oleynik-Gregory
An actress on Earth, Larisa uses her talents on Eternia to entertain the people alongside fellow actor Man-E-Faces when not in battle against the Evil Warriors. She met Matthew when travelling back from New York to Los Angeles to be with her family and quickly decided to stay with him and become his wife. During her stay, she learned of his secret identity as Mistico and was given abilities of her own, much like her soon-to-be husband’s. Some of her abilities were stronger than his and she even held a fluid grace that he could never match. Balancing her life on Earth as an actress and superhero, she found it even easier on Eternia when she was whisked to the magical planet. Using the special sword gifted to her by the Queen, Larisa became quite prominent with it and loved the jewel in the hilt. She and Teela became good friends—the warrior-made-Sorceress quickly learning Larisa’s secret—and helped turn the tide in favor of the Masters, winning the Second Ultimate Battleground!

I'm glad you could help too! Scalpor's head is the main snake from my extra King Hssss. I used the other 4 snakes to make a Super Hssss (in the thread here somewhere) and had just the main trunk left. So I cut off the neck as far down as I could go, drilled a hole up the center, and plugged it onto a BA Skeletor buck.

Ok, I had fun with making this and even more fun with writing the bio (and the above sentence). All for fun, though I had to work him into the Classics somehow. Check it out, dudes!

Disco Skeletor®
Evil Lord of Destruction™…and Dancing
Real Name: Keldor™
Unbeknownst to most Eternians, Skeletor is not all jive and square, always trying to take control of Eternia. No. In fact this far out cat has a playful side that very few are ever privilaged to see, save his most trusted of compadres. The last shred of his humanity is his love for a special kind of riteous music that was brought to Eternia but a groovy gal named Marlena Glenn. As Keldor, he had Dekker build him a music machine that would play the psychedelic records Marlena had brought with her to experiment with in space. When the mood strikes him, he goes to his private chambers and locks the door. There, he gets out his special golden armor and staff, puts on a metallic bodysuit of purple and black, and paints his face an eclectic orange. Down comes the disco ball from the ceiling, and sounds from those stacks of wax blare throughout the crib as Snake Mountain rocks and Disco Skeletor gets down with his bad self! Catch you on the flip side!

My Demetrius character (see a previous post for pics & bio) was getting lonely on my shelf standing by himself. So I thought, "What's a He-Man with no arch-enemy?". I had a bunch of irregular parts lying around and decided to put them together and see what I might get. Well, here he(?) is, Skryxxt: Demon King of Infinita.

Real Name: Skryxxt the Demon King
In his lust for the ultimate power, Skryxxt found himself on the magical planet, Eternia, long about the time Demetrius was bequeathed the Sword of Power. Learning of Castle Grayskull and its magical properties along with the knowledge of the Key to opening the great Castle, Skryxxt set forth to relieve its current owner of his guardianship. Demetrius fought long and hard, though, and Skryxxt soon found he needed henchmen to aide him in his battle against the new He-Man of the East. For years they fought until the current Sorceress of Grayskull, Kodak Ungor, found the right spell to send him back to Infinita hopefully forever. Skryxxt never forgot about Grayskull or Demetrius though, and vowed to find a way to return and claim the power for his own one dark day.


The fact that they have matching battle swords (besides the Power Swords) was a complete surprise to me when I grabbed Demetrius for his battle photo. I had to laugh.

Thanks! It amazes me too how just a little paint or parts-swapping can still look cool. Guess that's why MOTU is one of the best toylines around.
