Nope. This material is actually very grainy. I usually only use this material for large pieces that don't require a lot of detail. For those other pieces I use a black detail material. Shapeways recently introduced another material which they say can even handle more detail then any other material so far. Not sure what the price is for that since I havent used it yet. Also the guy modeling harolds 3d models will have to make the figure into seperate pieces so we can benefit from the higher detail material and Harold told me he didnt want to do that.

I think its less an issue of wanting to do it and an issue of price. Its really expensive to print these.

Yes it is. Especially with the high detail material. And then there are the casting materials.

If Harold will be making casts of the 3D prints you have to keep in mind that it's probably best to print it in the material that alows the highest amount of detail. The material Harold is using currently using causes a lot of loss in detail. The detailed material is a lot more expencive though.

Also if the models can be broken up into several parts before printing it'll make it easier to make molds and it lets you add more polygons thus more detail.

yes if he do it by pieces should be more easy to cast them, handas like the one of ur catra´s warrior or ur evil see are hard to cast, but hands like ur horde wizard is not,, the most easy ones for cast till now of course are the horde wizard and calix, i think modulok too, but should be kinda hard to put the mold between the legs

You know, for whatever reason...Extendar seems to get overlooked a lot. He's one of my favorite vintage figures, and I would love to get Extendar in both the 200x and MOTUC lines.

Maybe the 3d modeling technology is not yet at at point that will allow this to be affordable/feasible.
Someone could always actually physically sculpt the desired statues in a material that would be ideal for reproduction.

Yes using the current 3D print method, they are very expensive, and the logistics behind producing them (I've always wanted to use that word! LOGISTICS) just aren't working right now to make them feasible.

However! Do not fear! I am working something out...
