Goddess Coming Soon???

Pretty late in the game for a change. If the shipment was late they would just say it. If it was a Manufacturing Problem that would delay her a couple of months they would of known earlier than this. This was done on purpose for sure.. I wonder if we will ever find out why.. I like the 200x guesses going on here she has a good chance for being the June quarterly figure. we will see

But seriously though, Scott did say that Matty wouldn't go into production with a second run of Goddess until they sold off the remainder of the stock and he said that while Matty is well aware of the problems with Goddess 'not every figure was damaged.'

That's not really giving a big vote of confidence. At first all the figures were selling great and then Goddess takes 2 weeks to sell and suddenly she was a huge failure. It all kind of adds up to smelling funky.

And like others have said if it were a simple delay then they would have known about.

If the shipment was late (most likely due to all the storms recently) than Evil Lyn wouldn't be the *only* figure not shipping.

If it were a product delay they would have announced it sooner than a few days before the sale.

If it were a manufacturing defect/delay then they would have announced it sooner.

Maybe they changed it trying to do fan relations.
Sell off the remain product-see if they get alot of call backs for damaged figures-then decided for a 2nd run.
This is what fans wanted maybe this is the first step it trying to figure it all out. Of course if it is that-wish they would just say so.
And that in itsself goes back to more fan relations-tell us honestly what is going on.

Of course selling damaged product is lame IMO.

Y'kow... in Mattels defense, I don't really blame them for selling the leftover stock.

Even here in OUR poll, that is AIMED at people with broken Goddess figures,

It shows that about 80% of the Goddess are JUST FINE... SOME did break... but that's not really cause to scrap a whole warehouse full of them...

Honestly before that poll I thought it was more of a widespread problem... I wouldn't be surprised if one or two 'batches' of Goddess figures were contaminated or substandard.... and they're not sure which ones...

I also think having that warehouse full of stock is an anchor around their necks... and the first available slot they shoved them out the door!! Toyguru knows that people want a new run of Goddess, but Mattel won't let him make them till these are gone, SOoooo First chance, GET RID OF THEM...

Looking at the numbers, I'd say odds are pretty good you'll get a functional Goddess THIS time around...

Personally I HATE the character (my goddess is Teela in armor) But I WOULD like another He-man set of armor... sooooo I MAY take the leap this time around...

works for me. I can save some money this month. I already have Evil-Lyn but was thinking of getting another to re-paint Filmation style or at the very least give human skin tone- I really don't like the banana slug look.

I was also worried that I would go and get the figure then find out next month that 20XX Evil-Lyn is coming soon. If she is I'm not gong to bother with the re-paint.

I think it's well known around her that I hate Green Goddess so I don't care if she's just backstock. I would love it if a re-release backstock or not corrected her bio so she's K'yrulla and not Sharella (or really just about anyone and not Sharella) but I doubt it'll happen.

I don't think 200X Evil-Lyn is coming this year...

Mattel knows how bad everyone wants her. She's in the club with Man-E-Faces, Sorceress, Ram Man, Mekaneck, Frosta, Rattlor, Tung Lashor, Mantenna, Leech, etc.

They've extended the line fully into 2017. They WILL be spreading these most-wanted figures out

Case in point, the GB figs they had on the site for Cyber Monday sale, all of those figures lasted until the sale was over, then they magically went to 'Sold Out' status again on the site. Of course they keep some stock, but it seems to me that every time they pull the whole 'extra stock' it turns out to be quite a lot of product.

I can't wait! I'm going to buy one, and the day it arrives, I'm going to call and say it broke, then send them the one that's been sitting in a baggie, all shattered and stuff, for the past 4 months. Then I'm going to play with my new one pretty roughly, and when she breaks, I'll send her back too. I will continue this until I have single handedly depleted the Customer Service stock.

If they would just act like an honest company and not sell us this defective caca, there would be no need for such action.

I picked up my Goddess from a fella selling off his moc collection. She looked fine in her package, but once I opened her up...yep, shatter crotch/hips pieces fell out. Now I'll finally have one or hopefully two that aren't broken! Hurray!!

And to be honest, it's totally ethical, especially considering they aren't discounted, and Mattel acknowledged there is a problem with the figures.

Here is the full scoop. Evil Lyn was supposed to be the Jan re-release. A few days ago Rhobyn (who works for me running logistics on Mattycollector.com - she works with our distribution center and Digital River to get product back and forth) was informed the Evil Lyn was still in Hong Kong and would not be in DR for the Jan sale. Since she was not a subscription figure we did not push this one.

We looked over our list of product that we had available in the US and we have enough Goddess figures from the first sale (though still limited) to put her on sale as the older figure brought back slot. Her inventory was customer service stock from the first sale and not a new run. She was the best candidate for this slot as the Feb re-issue figures are not here yet either.

I can also confirm we do not have a reissue of her scheduled right now. It is possible we would get to a reissue one day, but right now the line time is allocated for quite a while so Goddess will not be on the reissue list anytime soon. If you want her, this may be the best way to get her (and the only guaranteed way!).

Thank you. Please tell me (us) whether or not Tytus is still on deck for February and if he is a straight-up re-release with no changes (i.e. softer loin cloth)?

Hopefully he will still be the Feb figures (as you can see with Evil Lyn things can run close and still change). There were no changes to the figure (as we did not have a development sku slot to allocate to him, we usually save valuable development sku slots for new figures) but we did request for the Powers of Grayskull sticker to be added. I haven't seen a sample yet so hopefully I can confirm this soon.

I can understand Battle Armor He-Man & Skeletor. They are the leads for this franchise and the first variants ever released, but if we get a 2002 Evil-Lyn before any of those you mentioned above(I'd also like to add Fisto, Jitsu, and Queen Angella

), I'll be peeved. There are too many character that haven't been released yet to start making multiple versions of the same character.

Of the sixteen $20 sub figures a year, four are locked down as variants (last year there were three - after BAHM, Keldor counted as a Skeletor variant, and red-cape King Grayskull as a KG variant).

Doesn't matter whether they're original-toy variants (e.g. BA HM/Sk), 200X toy/MYP looks (e.g. Evil-Lyn/Randor), PoP toy looks (e.g., She-Ra/Catra) or something else (e.g. red-cape KG, Keldor), it's been confirmed that This Will Happen ever since the sub went on-sale (and was widely known before that).

Basically, if you don't have a sub, skip'em. If you do, you were warned...

I was hoping 200X Evil Lyn would be the quarterly variant in June. But I’m not sure if they’d release a reissue Evil Lyn and a redeco Evil Lyn so close now that reissue Lyn isn’t going out in January.
