Bugs Report

This thread will be used to report bugs you may encounter on the new site.

A few reccomendations:

always post the page URL where you encountered the bug
If you get an php or mySQL error on the page, if possible, take a screengrab and attach it to your post;
If you were performing a specific action on the page, please describe the best you can what you were trying to do.
Keep each bug in one post. If you need to update your post, please delete it and repost it with the new info, and mark it as *updated* in red
Please read the entire thread to see if a bug has been already reported and if there are more info about it before posting

We'll try to mark them fixed but with *fixed* every time we fix them.

I don't seem to be able to add my have/want list to the collection database. I select my figures then press the save button. The page reloads to the figures page but when I check My Collections there is nothing there

Same problem here too. Just letting you know you are not the only one wanting to use this awesome feature.

Keep those reports coming!

This feature was working, but it may have gotten "busted" when going live.
So it should be back up and running in a day or two.

Let us know as you see more!

We've seen a couple ourselves since going live.

Yeah, I'm glad it wasn't just me having this problem. I'll try it again in a day or two as JVS3 suggested.

I can and have added my have/want list to the database collection but I find I can't view them or other orgers if I click on the menu that I have highlighted (not sure what you call it)

instead I get a 404 not found error

Hey guys, very fun updates!

Some of the headers have titles too long for the header tab:

On occasion the graphic will cause the text to blend, making it a little hard to read, Not a big deal considering the referring link had/was the title so they know what they are. Most noted, the longer names in merchandising:

COLLECTING
--> Click My Collection Database (leads you to http://www.he-man.org/usercollection/)
-----> Click Browse Collections Databases (leads you to http://www.he-man.org/usercollection/browse.php)
To view other orgers collections.
(Under each user's avatar, there are links to their haves/wants)

If you want to view your own have or want list, you can click the links found on "My Collection Database" page.

I tried to use wiki style editing and fix Skeletor's release wave from heroic 3 to wave 1.

When I try to save this change, I get "Varitions Required Title" as popup. I am not trying to add variation, but simply fix the information, so the field requirement seems odd.

That's not a Bug.
It's also due to a recent change we did.
We're trying to make sure every single toy has a variation name, so in case other variations are added, the link is automatically generated. By default every new page created will have an "Untitled Variation" added to that field, but pages created before that change, now require it as a mandatory field.
You can just type "Untitled Variation" in the Variation box and that will do the trick :-)

Thank you for a quick reply, but could you clarify this a bit more. I am not sure if I understand this yet.

Does this mean we will generate a new variation every time one edits an article/toy/item? If I am fixing error on original article, isnt marking it as any sort of variation an error?

Do you approve changes made before they are shown, meaning you the editor can make the call what to do with the information (as in is it actual product variation or error fix?).

I logged in on the main site, but it seems that whatever I do in the forums, either trying to post or look at an attached file, I have to log in every time. I can look at threads, but anything that needs me to be logged in to access makes me do that each time I try to use it. I figured there might be a timer since I would not be recognized as logged in in the old forums after just browsing for a certain length of time. Just thought I'd let you know.

Sure I'll explain the better I can, but be patient with me, as it's a bit complicated when we get to variations.

It won't add a variations every time you edit a toy.
Simply, if that version of the toy you're editing is missing a name to indetify it among all the existing variants, it will force you to add one.
Most of the times just adding Untitled Variations will be enough as most of the toys on the database don't have variations YET.

The system needs something in that field, because, if a new variation is created, it needs to have a link back to the original toy.

The main thing to consider about how we built the system, is that EVERY version of a toy is considered a variation, even the one you'd consider the "default" or "basic" one.

Yep, we do. All the content is subject to approval and it may take some time before it shows on the site (sorry, we're only humans

I found a problem on whiplash page:

There's an image uploaded for the 2002 wiki page of Whiplash, but this page won't open. Eveytime you try to do it, it always redirect you to the 1982 page.

You have the power to edit an existing item, and change the information if it's not correct.

If it has the wrong year, just navigate to the item, and Edit Page under Editing Options.

Check out the Site Help for info on how to do this type of thing!

This new site is all about YOU making the changes (unless it's a major screw up like something not working that we have to fix).

There was just something funky in how the pages had been set up.
Now it's fixed.

In AUDIO-section there should be LP aswell? I think RECORDS means those little ones...

There's at least Secret of the Sword, Motion Picture Soundtrack and that story LP with "picture LP" :P

And where Movie casette goes? I think on a tape section -> Movie soundtrack ?

I just can't do those sections... If I push that Add Section-button, there is only those already created ones and I can modify them, but no NEW one.

LPs, 7"s, 12"s, 45s, etc. are all vinyl records.

You can't add more categories than CD, records and Tapes, only "collections" of items within this 3

ya you can view them that way but not the way I posted which is why I think it is a bug

I can't make sections cause [add section] & [edit page] are both same ! DVD needs new section.. all UK dvd's are from CONTENDER !

OR, I think it's better if there is each canon +movie for dvd/vhs !!! Then you can see easily all different releses. Let say original motu has USA, UK, FRANCE, AUSTRALIA and few other releases!

They are not the same, but I know where the problem is.
I'll try to have it fixed soon.
(please don't keep trying as you're creating lots of empty entries at the moment, nto your fault though)
Right now just tell me what section you want me to create and I'll do it.
We go by publisher usually.
