Just heard about it on the news so I was just curious who has been affected (or will be) by this?

Its mostly just the coastal parts of the boroughs. Im not effected at all. Statan island gets it the worst usually and the rockaways. They are saying the wind is going to be the main problem tho this time. Gusts up to 70mph....might even sweep me away! Lol. I wont be going outside.

I have my Batman suit ready for such a occasion. Lets do this!

Across the river from NYC - I think memories of last year's Halloween storm are still sticking in people's minds with the mess from flooding, downed wires, etc. Since the "Frankenstorm" is larger than last year's, it could be that much worse. Hopefully it's just people being over-prepared, though.

My unit is gearing up to deploy for emergency and recovery efforts. Last year we lost power for two weeks, hopefully that won't be the case this time.

I'm in zone B in Brooklyn. No evacuation in my zone. Hopefully it's will not be that bad. Just better to be safe and prepared than be sorry. Stay safe everyone.

Let me give you a heads-up about how serious this is. Kim and I live on the southeast shore of Lake Michigan, directly across the lake from Chicago. We're about 700 miles from New York City -- 700 miles. This evening we received a Weather Bug alert that we should expect twenty-foot high waves on Lake Michigan courtesy of 50 mph winds from this beast.
I know New England gets rough weather, but unless you've lived in Florida -- as we did years ago -- it's difficult to imagine the sheer power of any category hurricane. Trust me on this one: it's coming and it's angry.
Please stay safe.

I hope it isn't bad either...usually these things are just intense rain showers. A few roads might be flooded, some people might lose power and some trees might get knocked down, but that's usually the extent of the damage in South Jersey.
Why would they evacuate New York? Is a giant lizard attacking it?
Can someone PM me the US number for Matty? I want to talk to someone who might has a clue of what is going on.
Evil will always triumph because good is dumb.
They're evacuating people from low-lying zones; coastal areas like the Rockaways, Coney Island, etc. There's a ten-foot storm surge expected. From pics I've seen south of here, flooding's already started. So they want people out of the high-risk areas so the rescue teams don't have to pull them out later.

I live in Pennsylvania. It's fairly windy here and there is an annoying drizzle (as always).
It doesn't feel cold enough to snow, but I can't help but feeling that summer has finally come to an end![]()
