The plot of this movie looks so so so stupid.

I love Star Wars, but I hate the novels. If Lucas doesn't have his hands on it, its not Star Wars to me. I've tried reading some comics and novels and it just never got my attention.
I'm a little reserved about the Clone Wars, but the animated shorts were good and Lucas is involved in this, so I'm going to wait and see.
I have to give him credit that this is a way of keeping the Star Wars franchise alive. I was discussing this at another forum and Lucas can do tons of these movies and it will probably keep selling.
He could do a solo Luke Skywalker movie or a Han Solo and Chewbacca adventure. He could even get original voice actors if he tried. All he really has to do is just keep in with canon and produce some good stories.
We survived the long night.... MOTU Forever!
I can't say I to keen on the Jabba the Hutts son plot and don't like how Jabba looks in the trailer, he's way to upright.

Does anyone know if all the original actors are taking up their roles again. It sounds as if some are the same.
I wonder if Aayla or the other jedi will be in it. I dont have high hopes, but it would be nice.
Also, if this does well I wonder if Lucas will make more movies like this.

Samuel L. Jackson (Mace), Christopher Lee (Dooku), Anthony Daniels (C-3P0), and Matthew Wood (Grievous) are doing voices for the movie. Grey DeLisle (Asajj Ventress) who did a lot of the female voices in the previous Clone Wars cartoon also returns. I'm not sure if Jackson and Lee will continue to voice their roles in the tv series.
From what I've read, the tv show is episodic and will not just focus on Anakin. They've been quoted as saying there is an episode just about Kit Fisto, so it is entirely possible that Aayla could get her own episode if she is used in the show.
Clone Wars opens up tomorrow in theaters. I'll most likely try to catch it sometime this weekend.
According to wikipedia, here is the voice cast:
Voice, Actor Role:
Matt Lanter, Anakin Skywalker
James Arnold Taylor, Obi-Wan Kenobi
4A-7
Ashley Drane, Ahsoka Tano
Tom Kane, Yoda
Christopher Lee, Count Dooku / Darth Tyranus
Samuel L. Jackson, Mace Windu
Nika Futterman, Asajj Ventress
TC-70
Dee Bradley Baker, Captain Rex
Commander Cody
Clone Troopers
Catherine Taber, Padme Amidala
Anthony Daniels, C-3PO
Ian Abercrombie, Supreme Chancellor Palpatine / Darth Sidious
Matthew Wood, Grievous
Battle droids
I pretty much wanted to see this, just because it's something Star Wars on the big screen again. But after reading most of the reviews on rotten tomatoes this afternoon, I really don't want to anymore.
I mean, you know it's bad news when even the "positive" reviews are negative.
This just seems way, WAY to kiddified. I mean, when the plot centers around Anakin and random annoying teen girl Jedi escorting a baby "Huttling" they name "Stinky," that doesn't really give one much hope.
Plus I for one have no interest in seeing Jabba the Hutt's openly gay, drag queen uncle, thank you very much. No, I'm not even exaggerating.
Yeah, I liked the prequels, but I don't think even I could stomach this.
I saw it yesterday... It was OK, but there were a lot of things that weren't cool. The music for one thing... I think I would have enojoyed this movie more if I was a kid.
Well that should make it go well with the Prequels then.No doubt it will be yet more baby orientated Sci-Fi as the Prequel movies were. And who said that as long as Lucas is in charge everything should be great? Hah! Most of the 90's Expanded Universe stories were great (or as great as they could be after the mess of Return of the Jedi), but Lucas really screwed the pooch with the Prequels, bad enough for me to want to sell off all my old Star Wars stuff! A New Hope and Empire were fantastic, but the rest? Jedi had its moments, like the Speeder Bikes and the Emperor scenes, but the Prequels were NOT Star Wars. They almost came across as totally different films compared to the mature and well thought out Empire Strikes Back. And I'm guessing these "cartoons" are going to be more of the same rubbish that we saw 1999 onwards.

I saw the latest commercial with the baby burping and felt my stomach churn
But I really like the character designs and I have followed the "series" since the animated show on CN so I will be seeing this (and therefore am part of the problem)
I don't understand though why it needs to be kiddie in any way, the CN show was not very kiddie and got great ratings and its not like there is a lack of Star Wars fans either who will buy the animated toys

I don't know why they have to be babyish either. Empire wasn't babyish and that worked, so why not carry on in the same vain? Why does everything have to get so infantile and amateurish as the Prequels were? If Lucas were to have got some proper writers and maybe a few less "yes men" in to do the Prequels and these "cartoons", then I would've been fine with it. But alas I believe there's too much water under the bridge, too many ill conceived plotlines, too many continuity errors, too much slapstick, too many Muppets and too much wooden acting when it comes to Star Wars for it to do any good now.![]()
We saw it last night, and we all loved it. Fast action. Yes its for kids, but so are the other 6 movies, and yes the first OT is for kids. You know the ones that have 30-60 year olds having their hearts stop because something comes out that they dont like and they think they are owed something for being a fan.
I think Tropic Thunder looks like the stupidest movie to come out in years. You dont see me holding a grudge and saying the world is going to end because its coming out. I just wont see it. No big deal. Let the people have their fun with it. Im not gonna say they are dumb for going, like have been called because we went to SW.
Also if you didnt know this for those who collects SW toys- heres a little secret. Those are for kids also.
Unless you count the toys used in my favorite Expande Universe story line- Porn Wars- episode 1,2 and 3. I collect them all.

I've decided not to see it. I'll pass and watch it when it comes out on DVD...maybe.

It is going to be broken up and aired on Cartoon Network for free shortly before the holidays so you dont even need to wait for DVD if you want to give it a chance
Its going to air I think as a 4-5 part mini series on CN before the new show starts, thats one of the reasons WB is releasing the movie and not FOX because WB owns CN so its got a deal going

Mattel please, buy the He-Man and She-Ra cartoons from Entertainment Rights. If you owned Both Filmation related "MotU" cartoons, plus "NA" and "MYP" cartoons, you would be able to distribute any or all 4 cartoons to Television in the lead up to another relaunch or a live action movie. Plus, you could include Filmation and "NA" animated characters in "MotU:C"!
Long Live 'MOTU'!
Just got back from seeing it and it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Yeah their were thing I didn't like, the hutt plot line, jabbas uncle, the nicknames, the whole padawan character (a padawan that age would have to have more respect then she does for her master), but the battles were sweet.
I think the actual series will be a lot better as the story lines will be simpler.
I was wondering why Fox had not released it.

During the scene where Anakin's apprentice is bragging to the clones, it looks like R2-KT standing next to R2-D2. Nice touch.

My review:
Disregard anything the critics have said. It's actually far worse than anything that can be put into words.
Did you actually go see it? Reason I ask is because on May 11 you said the plot was so so stupid so I doubt it could have gotten better to you in 3 months....so why punish yourself
We are going to see it tonight or tomorrow morning, I survived Jar-Jar, the Ewoks, Anakins whining, and the horrendous "NOOOOOOO" Frankenstein Vader in E3 so I can survive whatever this thing throws at me
