not that im am aware of. only memories from those who grew up in serbia/yugoslavia.

just normal cards with blank backs and search for keldor covers with blank backs. were the only cards that have been remembered.

galaxy warrior what is the castle behind your figs. Is that a yugo knockoff castle (it looks way to shiny and has a pink inside door to be the mattel greyskull)

You could get pretty much any character. I suppose people who made them would just buy all the original figures and use them as molds for their own production. But I don't remember any vehicles or palysets - I suppose they would be too expensive to remake, and would defeat the purpose.

I don't think any MOCs survived but I can describe them to you. The bootlegs would usually be on a card, which was a copy of the original card. If the text was changed than it was usually loaded with spelling mistakes. The back was mostly totaly blank. No images, nothing - only the greyness of cheap cardboard.

Thanks for the detailed history. I love bizarre stuff like this. I keep coming back to this thread to look at all the figures. I'm getting the urge to try to collect them all. Are they very expensive to obtain?

rare indeed. but mostly due to them not being highly regarded by original owners.

no its a bootleg greyskull from argentina. its completely unique sculpt. and builds like a fort. not a clam shell.

they dont pop up often at all. theyre are a few thats other collectors have that havent posted. but the numbers are low. the last 2 auctions each for only 1 figure sold for over 100 each. loose incomplete.

Now, that ticket would be mega rare since the country does not exist anymore

It's funny how something originally so undesireable could become such a valued item. I still remember when we went on holidays in Croatia (also a part of Yugoslavia back then), the street markets along the beaches were full of these bootleg MOTU toys. I can't say exactly but these figures were about ten times cheaper than originals back then.

Didn't know that :| but if the streets were full of those it is possible to still find some packed, there is always some old timer hiding treasure yelling at people to go away.
