I love that poster! Everything about it makes me want to see the movie even more. I like how the shot of Malik is his beat-up face, and the tagline "Even the mightiest heroes may fail," how delightfully dark!
Is everyone ready for the Power Con premiere of this flick!?
I just talked to director John Carroll, and he said that the DVD release should be available by Thanksgiving (hopefully earlier). He wanted them to be available at the convention, but he still has some fine-tuning to do before he's satisfied, but he will be taking pre-orders at Power Con. He's not setting up a table, but he will probably be spending a lot of time at my table (Johnny's Perfect Costumes), so come see me, and if he's not around, I'll at least make sure he gets back to you.
So... Many of you should have seen the film by now. How did you like it? Did it meet your expectations or didnīt you expect anything at all?
I really enjoyed it! I can't wait to see the final version on DVD with all the missing sound effects put in. I really got a good Filmation feeling from it (much of the story is from one of the best Filmation episodes!). The dialogue and the way the characters acted was very much like a more serious (but still sometimes funny) Filmation movie. Some of it reminded me of the best elements in the '87 movie, and of course there was even some MYP moments. I'm proud to have been a part of this movie, and I'll be proud to own it!
As far as The Wizard of Stone Mountain, I was blown away with the story! With the additional experience and extra props (hopefully extra $$$ too!) I foresee this one will be even better than the 1st.
I want to be in your movie!!!! You considering maybe any Horde or Snakemen in the last two?
Keep it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh.
As far as I know principal photography on the third film is done, and the second film already premiered.
Where do we find this Fountain of Life movie?
..and are there any Zombies in it?
It premiered at the Grayskull Con with a "preview" Version, same as at the Power Con. A couple of days ago was the official premiere screening in Austin, TX, which was a lot further in the finishing process, but still not the final version. These have been the three opportunities to watch the movie so far. Thereīs still a lot of work to do in regards to sound, mix, editing and some special effects, so the finished download version will not be online before everything is nice and tidy ;-)
However, you can watch the first film and find out more about part 2 and 3 at http://wizardofstonemountain.com/ - and you can also donate to finishing the third movie Trials of Darksmoke. Thereīs an indigogo campaign currently running to raise money for urgently needed new equipment. Plus, there are some very nice gifts to claim, like DVDs, original screenused costumes and even VIP tickets to the premiere and to Power Con 2013!
I flew down to Texas for 2 days, to film the Blade scenes. I had a great time on set. The crew was very professional, and the Director had a good vision for what he wanted his project to be. A very ambitious project, to be sure. I look forward to seeing the final cut when it is done.
Goblins? What about the Goblin King? David Bowie, 'Dance Magic Dance' and all that?
(I am just joking about the zombies. Also goblins are awesome.)
The reason there is no David Bowie Goblin King is probably because
A. This IS NOT Labyrinth
B. David Bowie be in a fan made MOTU movie...not sure he would do such a thing
C. THIS IS NOT LABYRINTH
As for Zombies. Not only are the incredibly overused these days but I am pretty sure (like 10000%) that the filming of the movie is over so not sure how they are going to add zombies in :hmshift:
Thereīs still the Goblin General, who goes by the name of Tataran. And he looks amazing! :)
Furthermore: There were Zombies in the first movie "Wizard of Stone Mountain" if you will ;)
i think its an awesome project, i saw the first one and was nice, i just wish he-man could be more muscular...... but after all its looking better, triklops looks wicked
where can i see this movie?
Thanks! I'm Tri-Klops in this movie.
I agree, it would be cool to have He-Man be a bit bigger, but they tried casting more muscular guys early on, and they were all just too damned unreliable. They would agree to show up to a reading, and then we would just never hear from them again. Flakes! So John (the Director) decided to go with someone who was just a serious actor with the right look. David McCullars (He-Man) is tall (6'2"), so he towers over me (5'3"), he plays the part very well, and looks very heroic, so I think you'll enjoy his performance.
They're still finishing up some of the effects, so the DVD is due out by the end of December now. I'll try to update here when the date is set.
Awesome! I liked the first one and can't wait to see the second!
Any updates?
Its been a long time. Updates?
My sound editing program crashed so hard that it destroyed my workfile of the Fountain of Life sound-edit. I am basically back to almost zero for this one. But on the plus side, by know I know what effects to use and where to put them. I should be back on track rather quickly and I can even use this as an opportunity to make the sound even better than the first time. However, this definetly results in a delay, for which I apologize.
Well, the movie is finished! Anyone who hasn't seen it yet, go to John Carroll's site to check out this awesome film: http://www.trialsofdarksmoke.com/fountain-of-life.html
