Sent a PM to bishart over 2-3 weeks ago with no response... Hope the Bens are alive and well...
That's a safe estimate! While we haven't shown any new pics, we have both still been working on things Fortress of Power related. I think I have come up with the perfect combination of materials for casting this beast. It's polyester resin (actual name for the aforementioned boatyard resin) with fumed silica filler. The silica is a powder which is added to the resin to enhance the viscosity of the resin. In other words, it makes the resin thicken up, more to the consistency of petroleum jelly, so that it can hold a vertical or even overhead surface. This is crucial to creating a strong cast of even thickness, keeping the resin from pooling up in the low areas (and then shrinking or cracking from excessive thickness), and running off the high areas (and then creating weak spots).
So, that's a lotta technical crap, but it's a real exciting development. It will make casting much faster and easier on us.
Also finished my first character for Mattel's Design-A-Figure contest. Gonna try to get one more done before the deadline!
More to come.
Ben

I love the work done on this Castle. After reading through all of this I'm just amazed at how much work goes into something like this, and yet here it is. But the largest toy company in the world can't deliver, lol.
I look forward to seeing more of this castle. Thanks for sharing so many photos and info.
I know what their next project is but I'm not telling.
Hi,
Any new pics on accessoiries to share perhaps?
Cheers,
Johan
