Dare, a Tarzan-Like “Wild Child” is the adopted son of King He-Man and Queen Teela. By the Power Of Grayskull, Prince Dare's Power Sword transforms him into He-Ro, a mighty warrior, who battles Skeletor and his new Evil Warriors in a bold new struggle to decide the fate of Eternia. He is aided by his know-it-all Raven, known as Craven, who transforms into the mighty Battle Bird. Dare has no idea who his real parents were. His adopted father, King He-Man promises to help him track them down, and there are suspicions that Dare and Adam are possibly related by blood. 

History:

In the 10 years following Skeletor's defeat in Trolla, He-Man and Teela's ascension to the throne, after the assassination of King Randor. The new Sorceress of Grayskull, envisioned a 13 year old orphan, with no name is lost on Eternia. The boy, blessed with strange telepathic powers and raised by Ursaline, a powerful she-bearcat, knows nothing of the battle between good and evil until he came upon He-Man and the resurrected Skeletor. When Ursaline is killed and his pet crow, Craven is injured by Skeletor's evil magic, the boy chooses to fight alongside He-Man. To their mutual astonishment, the boy wields He-Man's original Sword Of Power and even successfully calls on the might of Grayskull, becoming the new He-Ro! When Dare first become He-Ro, Craven was perched on his shoulder, thus also transforming him into the mighty Battle Bird - a huge armored fighting creature, large enough for Dare to ride on! Battle Bird and Battle Cat have a competitive rivalry to see who can win Dare's praise, and who can be the bravest and best in battle. Because of their link, He-Man adopts the boy, names him Dare for his daring bravery, and reveals his secret identity. Together they search for clues to Dare's mysterious past and lost parents.

Dare has some difficulties adjusting to civilized life, especially living with royalty, Kay-La, daughter of Fisto, is assigned to civilizing him. Sir Laser-Lot accepts the challenge of training Eternia's newest hero. He still retains the ability to communicate with animals, and have all the skills of a wild child raised in the Eternian forests. As he has inherited the power sword from his adoptive father, Prince Dare is able to transform into the mighty He-Ro, in which he becomes a mighty warrior. His strength and powers increase, as well as his feral skills, setting him apart from He-Man before him. Along with He-Ro, he battles all evil with the New Masters Of The Universe, that include: Air-Bag, Fork-Lift, Kay-La, The Mighty Spector and Sir Laser-Lot.

Commentary From Clawful94: There are various orgins floating around out there. Lou Scheimer said that Dare was the child of Adora and Sea Hawk. The MOTUC bio of King He-Man tells us that Dare is actually the legitimate son of King He-Man and Queen Teela.
