At Castle Grayskull the Sorceress explains to He-Man and Battle Cat that there is trouble in the Fortress in the Sands. Giant robot spiders threaten to destroy the fortress. The heroes arrive and Ram Man stops the robots. Meanwhile Trap Jaw distresses at seeing his robots destroyed. A villain named Masque worries that he is not safe with Trap Jaw. Masque wanted Trap Jaw's robots to destroy the Fortress in the Sands because those living in it have been looking for Masque's mistress' fortress. He-Man captures Trap Jaw, but Masque escapes. Adam and Cringer approach the royal archeologist, Melaktha, about finding the mysterious fortress in the desert and along with his apprentice Stanlan journey to the Sands of Time. Masque in disguise delays the heroes, and his Reptile Men attack one night. He-Man confronts Masque and with the help of Orko destroys his mask. Masque dissolves and the secrets within the risen fortress are unknown.
